Beverly F. Spell studied ballet with Gwynne Ashton, then at the School of American Ballet and Harkness Ballet, where she was a scholarship student.
She also studied at the American Ballet Theater School and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, and the National Ballet of Canada. She is a graduate of the National Academy of the Arts in Champaign, Illinois, where she was a scholarship student. 
Beverly has been teaching for over twenty-five years. She continues to study ballet on a regular basis with Finis Jhung, and modern with Bill Hastings. Beverly collaborated with Finis Jhung and composer Scott Killian on the recently released children's dance CD "KIDS!". Beverly owns The Ballet Studio in Milton, Louisiana, where she has used the LEAP 'N LEARN syllabus for seven years. Beverly has had great success with her Early Childhood Program, stemming mainly from her creative use of the LEAP 'N LEARN syllabus. She has found that the students in her Early Childhood Program who have continued to dance have developed into highly creative dancers with strong technique and body awareness. Beverly has incorporated all of the insights, creative ideas, and years of intense study of ballet, modern, childhood development, and creative movement in writing the LEAP 'N LEARN syllabus. She is the author of LEAP 'N LEARN,
and hopes that you enjoy the same success that she has in using LEAP 'N LEARN!
